Job Description

Salary Range : KSh 100,000 – KSh 150,000/month


Responsible for the maximization of sales for all stationary range of products, art material and selected books in the Key Accounts Supermarkets Tier 1 .


Duties And Responsibilities:


*Responsible for acquiring and servicing key account Tier 1 Supermarkets countrywide and identify growth opportunities to increase market penetration and optimise the Company’s market share.

*Research and identify sales opportunities, generate leads, and close sales on a consistent basis and in line with credit and delivery terms.

*Develop effective forecast of consumer trade needs and retail development in the target markets.

*Contribute to planning and implementing of sales and marketing strategies together with the team to achieve the envisioned business growth plan.

*Identify avenues for product improvements and on new product listings by constantly researching and remaining up to date with current industry trends, market activities and competitors.

*Develop partnership (JBPs) with customers to ensure successful market entry plans and trade management.

*Maintain effective communication channels between, merchandisers, sales team, and other departments to ensure smooth execution of business plans and strategies.

*Ensure complaints and after-sales service issues and repairs are managed in time and to the satisfaction of the customer.

*Maintain productive relationships across the merchandisers and sales team to fast-track revenue growth.

*Liaise with the management in ensuring a seamless supply of merchandise as well as brand visibility at all points of sale and promotional activity campaigns in the 1st Tier supermarkets.

*Represent the Company at Key Accounts meetings and events as and when required in liaison with the Head of Sales.

*Prepares reports by collecting, analysing, summarising information, and articulating the same during monthly sales meetings.


Requirements and skills:

*Minimum Business Degree / Diploma preferably in Marketing.

*At least 5 years Sales & Channel Distribution experience.

*Strong understanding of Retail/Channel Marketing, Retail Merchandising and Retail Management.

*Excellent communication skills and an astute negotiator.

*High level of commercial awareness.

*Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

*Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work cross functionally with minimal supervision.

*High level of integrity.

*Good knowledge of IT systems and software.

Tasks & Responsibilities


Budget


*Ensure verification and timely treatment of budget Vs actuals, dissemination to Budget Holders and coordination meetings with other departments on Budget Follow-up.

*Ensure rectifications of errors, as well as budget projections up to the end of the project / or annual cycle and the consolidation of the final Budget Follow-up.

Finances

Administration


*Prepare for authorities' control, follow up on contract documentation.

*Incorporate recommendations from previous controls.

*Incorporate donors' compliance files and integrate them into our processes tools.

*Respond to specific needs of the Head of Support Services for administrative matters.


Qualifications


Professional knowledge and experience


*Master's degree or at least a University degree in finance, accounting or other equivalent degrees. CPA certification is an asset.

*At least 3 years of experience in accounting and finance roles.

*At leats 3 years experience in the non-profit sector for organisations working worldwide.

*Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, organisational software, and Apple environment is an asset.

*Solution-oriented is essential.

*Solid IT skills and professional knowledge of Excel.

*Knowledge of different donors' compliance, preferably ECHO/ EU BHA/ USAID, SDC, FCDO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Draft grant awards and modifications, process financial reports/payments, and coordinate technical review and acceptance of milestones/deliverables as relevant.
•Maintain Community Contracting Fund Grants Program database and forward results information and success stories to relevant staff and external audiences through management and communications channels as directed by COP.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, including business, accounting, or compliance
•3-5 years of related experience in administering grants, subcontracts, procurement, of a similar size and complexity.
•3-5 years of related experience and compliance with USAID regulations
•Expert with (US) FAR & AIDAR as applicable to grants, subcontracting and procurement
•Excellent budget and financial management skills; ability to monitor subgrantee budgets for accuracy and allowable costs required
•Demonstrated experience applying clauses and negotiating without heavy management oversight
•Ability to independently develop amendments and modifications as a result of negotiations
•Experience providing capacity-building training to local organizations
•Ability to independently solve problems, self-start, be creative and innovative
•Sound/strong communication, leadership and reporting skills required
•Experience working in Kenya agricultural development programs is highly preferred
•Strong written and oral communication skills as well as thorough familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

Careers in Kenya at GL & Treasury - Accountant

Our client is one of Kenya’s blue chip firms that manufacture and distribute aluminium and copper cable products in East Africa, where we are recruiting an accountant.
The person would ideally have at least 2 years audit experience in a reputable audit firm and at least 3 years industrial experience in an Accountant – Treasury position.

Primary responsibilities
• Maintain general ledger – GL, files, review supporting schedules for all GL accounts and ensure that all items of the GL are adequately supported by explanatory schedules. Also prepare expense schedules on accruals and prepayments.
• Processing applications for bid bonds, guarantees and performance bonds and ensuring that these are received on a timely basis.
• Prepare a breakdown of staff balances that haven’t been accounted for and submit to the Payroll Accountant for recovery. Carry out surprise cash counts at least once a month.
• Produce timely and accurate financial reports, book of accounts and statements.
• Assign GL codes to all requisitions, maintain fixed assets register and ensure all new assets are tagged immediately upon purchase.
• Prepare daily cash position, prepare weekly and monthly cash flow projections showing clearly all maturing obligations and overseeing preparation of the monthly payroll and relevant statutory returns.
• Monitoring and managing the bank facility including updating of loan balances, LC issued, bank guarantees for Kenya and Tanzania operations.
• Oversee the international purchasing function, including ensuring accurate computation of cost of imported raw materials, spares and fixed assets.
• Initiate letters of credit, TT payments and negotiate competitive forex rates and payment commissions with banks.
• Ascertain proper computation of all taxes and ensure that these are paid on due date.
• Maintain record of all intercompany balances, ensure that all recharges are properly captured in both company books, oversee maintenance of Uganda branch accounts, Uganda distributors and Rwanda distributors accounts including filing of their VAT returns.
• Maintain an up to date annual leave and training calendar for the entire finance function.
 Qualifications
• Accounting qualification for instance CPA (K), ACCA
• Bachelors degree in finance or a business relevant field
• At least 2 years audit experience in a reputable audit firm and at least 3 years industrial experience as Accountant – Treasury.
• Experience in international trade  including TT payments, LCs and Guarantees, and good working knowledge of tax legislation
• Working knowledge of ERP – GP Microsoft dynamics and HRMIS systems
• Computer literacy including office applications, such as MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Honest, possessing a high sense of integrity and takes initiative.
Remuneration
This position is based in Nairobi and would suit those whose salary expectations range from KSh. 100,000 to 120,000 per month.
