Profile Introduction            

Our client one of the INGO seeks to bring on board a Team coordinator who will be responsible for team support to the Public Affairs and Communications. In particular, the role will support the Director, along with the other teams, plus any other assigned team in the Program. The role partners with co-located teams across functions to provide administrative support.


Roles and Responsibilities:


*Manage scheduling for the department leadership including calendar meeting requests, plus the entire Public Affairs and Communications team.

*Lead scheduling for all activities in line with work plans.

*Plan, coordinate, and ensure schedules are followed and respected.

*Schedule meetings and coordinate related logistics, such as room bookings, refreshments, and document preparation for all attendees.

*Manage agenda, take minutes at meetings, and distribute as appropriate.

*Lead follow up of key action items for the department, ensuring that the department leadership is prepared for meetings and correspondence and work runs smoothly.

*Manage travel in coordination with the travel team and other office coordinators and team assistants, including extensive global travel, accommodation reservations, ground transport, travel visas and immunizations.

*Prepare and submit expense reports accurately and efficiently in line with organizational policies.

*Compose routine correspondence with the ability to be proactive in identifying the need for writing.

*Liaise with Public Affairs & communications and colleagues regarding functional communications.

*Handle the distribution of correspondence, monitor email and act as appropriate and ensure attention to accuracy and detail.

*Plan, organize and maintain accurate documentation for the function including reports.

*Maintain organization of the database, shared network drives and SharePoint sites

*Provide support in budget preparation and forecasting. Supporting Financial management processes in line with policies and processes

*Provide backup to other team coordinators and executive assistants as required.


Minimum Qualifications:


*College diploma or University degree is required.

*Minimum 5 -10 years of experience in NGO for the position of a Team Coordinator or Administrative Assistant role in a fast-paced environment. Local experience preferred.

*Excellent prioritization and time management skills.

*Excellent interpersonal skills, exhibiting grace under pressure.

*Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Office 365 and SharePoint).

8Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to produce high quality work consistently and effectively.

*Able to work independently with little direction or supervision and possess ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects.

Qualifications:

• Analytical and conceptual skills to think and plan strategically. Skills and experience in communication programmes, monitoring, review and evaluation.
• Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with media representatives, government officials and community groups.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a key member of the accounting team, who develops our sourcing strategy, identifies savings opportunities across all areas of spend and provides key input to annual savings plans.

This position requires a high level critical thinking, project management, and financial management in order to work with other departments to manage costs across all areas of the business, ranging from raw materials sourcing to vehicle repairs to office supplies and beyond.

This position reports to the Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

-Establish and manage strategic direction (both short and long term) for all sourcing activities.
-Identify savings opportunities from alternate product/supplier sourcing.
-Responsible contract negotiations with suppliers and operations team.
-Make good and timely ‘risk versus reward’ decisions considering both short and long term outcomes.
-Identify areas of risk (supply, pricing, contract, supplier financial & operational capacity qualification, etc.) and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
-Strategize with business leads to identify and prioritize opportunities in sourcing, supplier development, internal improvements, and other strategic areas for operational excellence and cost savings.
-Support finance department in achieving cost efficiencies in all areas of the business.
-Enter bookkeeping records and incorporate new suppliers to financial system as required.
-Perform additional ad hoc decision support analysis as required.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain Management with accounting qualification, preferably CPA-K/ACCA. MBA will be an added advantage.
-At least 3 years post-qualification work experience in strategic sourcing/supply chain management/finance in a medium or large manufacturing/processing company.
-Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with Pastel and Quickbooks accounting software will be an added advantage.
-Excellent financial and business analytical skills, with the ability to see beyond the numbers.
-Experience developing and executing strategic plans, Commodity/Market Analyses, Negotiation skills, Project Management and Financial Management.
-Excellent communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and influencing skills (all levels).

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:

• A Masters degree in any Survey related field, GIS or Planning from a recognized university
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying or Geomatic/Geospatial Engineering from a recognized university
• A Full Member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (MISK) - Geospatial Surveyors Chapter (being a Licensed Surveyor would be an added advantage)
• At least ten (1 0) years relevant experience, five (5) of which must be with a reputable organization and at least 3 years at senior management level (experience in the public sector would be an added advantage)
• Demonstrated experience and understanding in various types of surveys, adjudication and settlement schemes
• Well developed computer literate skills (knowledge and application of GIS would be an added advantage)
• General management skills

• Establish and maintain comprehensive record of plans for all public land.
• Coordinate processing of applications for plot allocations, extension of leases, extension of user, change of user and subdivisions at the County Land Management Boards.
• Liaise with other sectoral agencies with respect to land use planning and development.
• Provide leadership in developing and nurturing professionalism in land use planning practice at the Commission.
• Work closely with and consult external partners including third party vendors and consultants.
• Oversee administrative functions and facilities to ensure efficient operations of the Directorate of Land Use Planning in the Commission.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Commission.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:

• At least a master degree in Urban & Regional Planning from a university recognized in Kenya.
• Be registered with the Physical Planners Registration Board in Kenya and with valid membership for the current year.
• Be corporate member of a recognized planners’ professional Association in Kenya and with valid membership for the current year.
• At least ten years of relevant experience as an urban & regional planner (three of which should have been in senior management level) in public and or private sector including research and academics.
• Demonstrate experience and understanding of various types of planning at urban, county and national levels.
• Well-developed computer literacy skills including GIS and CAD.
• Should meet requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international and ecumenical centre that supports and promotes non-violent approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing preconditions for building peace.

LPI is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Programme Advisor within the Somalia Programme Unit.

Responsibilities:

• Supports LPI’s partners in Somalia to develop plans of peace building engagement, with specific focus on capacity building, participatory research and analysis;
• Provides methodological support to LPI’s partners in research design, development of data collection tools, training of field staff, and data collection;
• Ensures that the partners’ projects are consistent with LPI’s programme objectives in Somalia;
• Monitors and reports on partners’ progress in conflict research and analysis in close collaboration with the programme team, according to the criteria set forth in their reinforcement plans and reports regularly on such progress;
• Ensures regular presence and close accompaniment of partners in the field, during relevant stages of the project implementation;
• Builds good relations with LPI’s partners and other local actors and identifies relevant peace building opportunities;
• Participates in the dissemination of research findings and capacity building workshops; gathers materials and documents experiences and lessons learned that could further be used to enhance LPI’s activities;
• Liaises and collaborates with researchers and research institutes in Somalia, Kenya or elsewhere, which are conducting research related to conflict transformation issues applicable to LPI’s programme.

Education, Knowledge and Skills:
• Professional experience of project work in peace building and/or development fields.
• Professional experience in conducting social research and data analysis using participatory methodology
• University degree in peace and conflict, education, monitoring & evaluation, development studies or other relevant field. Master’s preferred, Bachelor with relevant skills and experience (5+ years) may be considered.
• Good analytical writer (English).
• Fluency in both spoken and written Somali language is required as well as strong English writing and speaking skills.
• Demonstrated interest in peace building and organisational development, experience in NGO programme work a strong asset.
• Experience and interest in working on issues of gender mainstreaming in peace building is an asset.
• Able and willing to travel to field locations in remote areas of South-Central Somalia.
• Balanced, mature personality with developed diplomatic skills, able to cope with working in stressful and complex environments.
• Eager and flexible mind, willing to acquire new skills on the job.
• The candidate should not require a work permit to work in Kenya.

Internews Europe is an international media development organization that improves access to information and freedom of expression worldwide.

Internews Europe is launching a media development project focused on child rights in Kenya.

The project will support ‘traditional’ media outlets (TV, radio, newspapers) and use new media systems (websites, social media, and cell phones) to better communicate information on child rights issues, expand the public and policy debate, and amplify child and advocacy voices on child rights.

Internews Europe is looking for eleven (11) motivated staff members to implement the child rights media project.

The CSO and Children Partnership Manager will be responsible for the development, management and coordination of Civil Society Organisation media capacity building activities and children media content generation activities in collaboration with national and international partners.

S/he will supervise 5 (five) positions.

Specific responsibilities:

-Design, coordinate and direct media capacity building activities for Kenyan CSOs, CBOs, international organizations working on child rights and relevant state institutions for advocates to better access media channels, network with media, and amplify their voices.
-Promote dialogue and networking between CSOs and the media.
-Design, coordinate and direct media activities with schools, youth groups, journalism clubs and universities to empower children and youth to generate child rights content and engage media.
-Build and maintain strong partnerships with child rights organizations, partner schools and journalism clubs as well as media outlets; manage relations with and supervise implementing partners working with children on storytelling and media literacy.
-Write project reporting of training activities.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 7 years experience in working on child rights in Kenya, or 7 years in the media.
-Minimum BA in Social Sciences and/or Communications.
-Experience in building the capacity of local organizations.

Skills:

-Thorough knowledge of child rights, social and legal issues specific to Kenya, with existing network of international and local child rights organizations in Kenya.
