Job Title: Technician

Tasks and Responsibilities
•Establishing system access by issuing IDs, coaching client on password construction and usage
•Monitoring access by looking-up ID status and verifying owner identity
•Maintaining security files by receiving, processing and filing computer security forms, documents and agreements
•Providing information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
•Performing service and installation of access control, intrusion alarm, closed circuit television systems, and other security related systems
•Evaluating, diagnosing and troubleshooting systems and performing repairs as necessary
•Inspecting installation sites and study work orders, building plans and installation manuals in order to determine that materials requirements and installation procedures have been met
•Testing and repairing circuits and sensors following wiring and system specifications
•Recording serial numbers on all equipment installed and follow through with reports as required for documentation of official records
Skills and Qualification Required

•Diploma / Certificate in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or related field
•Minimum 2 years experience in a similar industry     
•Good communication and presentation skills
•Self driven with high level of integrity
•Proven team player skills

Job Title:CCTV, Access Control and Alarm Installation Technician

About the company;
Zenith Systems Ltd is located in Nairobi and specializes in provision of integrated security solutions.
We supply, install and maintain a wide range of security and surveillance products and systems.
We are seeking for suitable candidates with experience in installing, troubleshooting and maintaining CCTV systems, access control systems, intruder alarm systems, fire detection systems, electric gates and other security products and systems to fill the position of an Installation Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Install, configure and program IP and Analog CCTV cameras (including DVRs and NVRs), Access Control Systems, Intruder Alarm Systems, Fire Detection Systems, Electric Gates and other security products and systems.
*Integrate CCTV cameras, access control systems and other security systems through service installation and software deployment.
*Undertake and coordinate customer site surveys to determine security and technical requirements, including preparing detailed site plans/schematics and make recommendations for appropriate system solutions.
*Assess installed systems for operational and performance deficiencies through documented testing and troubleshooting protocols/procedures and discuss with customers the appropriate corrective actions.
*Manage installation job site in an efficient and safe manner keeping it clean, organized and professional.
*Ability to identify new and innovative product opportunities, study the feasibility of the same and prepare technical manuals for the products and update the Quality Plans when required.
*On Call duties including responding and resolving after hours and weekend trouble calls if needed.
*Contribute to preparing tender and proposal documentation and responding to technical requirements as needed.
*Assist in preparing costing/billing assessments for installation, repair and maintenance works as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

*Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized National Training Institution.
*Minimum 3 years experience installing, commissioning and maintaining electronic security systems, including CCTVs (IP and Analog CCTV cameras), Access Controls, Intruder Alarms, Fire Detection Systems, Electric Gates, etc
*Advanced knowledge of computers and IP networks, structured cabling methods, racking, cable terminations and practices
*Demonstrated experience in using cable testers, termination tools and other basic hand and power tools
*Advanced conduit and cable management skills are essential
*Experience installing all types of electro-magnetic locks and strikes
*Experience in wiring security and communication control panels
*Ability to work independently under minimum supervision or as a team leader
*Ability to work in any environment safely and must have maintained an excellent safety record over the last 3 years
*Ability to teach and provide guidance to other engineers
*Must be able to work in outdoor settings and confined spaces, be comfortable working with ladders, tolerating heights, and be able to routinely lift, push, or pull packages of up to 25kgs.
*Excellent written and oral English language skills
*Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Electrical Technician at Finlays Group in Kenya

Job Title: Electrical Technician

Duty Station: Nairobi, Naivasha, Kericho, Mt. Kenya and Mombasa

Responsibilities;

•Performing complex maintenance tasks involving analog and digital equipment
•Preparing maintenance service reports/ equipment operating and maintenance procedures for new and/or modified equipments
•Monitoring data collection equipment necessary to manage the electrical power purchasing program and power quality program.
•Analyzing situations accurately and evaluating maintenance records to establish preventative maintenance schedules and spare part inventories.
•Ordering parts and making repairs to equipment in a timely manner.
•Anticipating material and equipment needs
•Fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120V to 480V 3 phase) and common utility lighting circuits
•Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and implementation of new control logic.
•Inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of process instrumentation and control equipment
•Reading and interpreting plans, schematics, process control flow diagrams, system/network drawing, detail drawings and wiring diagrams.
•Responding to emergency calls.
•Setting priorities and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications / Competencies;

•Knowledge of Calibration of equipments
•Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and practice as applied to process instrumentation and control equipment
•Two years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial instruments, control or communication system components involving the application of physical, chemical, and electronic principles.
•At least one year of the required experience must have involved the maintenance of digital equipment
•Diploma in Electrical/Electronic engineering with a bias in instrumentation engineering
•Knowledge of all equipment related to instrumentation
•Knowledge of troubleshooting & fault finding
